The Senior Technical Consultant plays a critical role in Simply Spatial’s solution delivery and client success. This role is responsible for leading technical delivery, guiding solution design, and ensuring projects are executed with excellence from discovery through implementation.
As a senior consultant, you serve as a technical leader, trusted advisor, and mentor. You help clients make confident technology decisions while supporting the growth, quality, and consistency of Simply Spatial’s delivery team.
✅ Position Overview
The Senior Technical Consultant – Spatial Intelligence & Solution Delivery leads the design, configuration, and delivery of spatial and enterprise technology solutions across Simply Spatial projects.
You own technical delivery for assigned engagements, working directly with clients to gather requirements, design solutions, and guide implementation. This role blends hands-on technical work with leadership, mentoring, and client-facing responsibility.
This position reports to the Technical Consulting Lead and works closely with project and program leadership to deliver client solutions.
This role blends:
Leading GIS solution design and delivery across impactful client projects, from discovery through implementation
Architecting and building maps, applications, dashboards, and data collection workflows that support operational and decision‑making needs
Owning data quality, schema design, and QA/QC standards, ensuring solutions are accurate, defensible, and production‑ready
Designing and implementing automation, scripting, and system integrations as part of end‑to‑end enterprise solutions
Reviewing and guiding technical work produced by team members to maintain quality and consistency
Contributing to client documentation, deliverables, and internal coordination while helping shape delivery best practices
✅ Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, configuration, and delivery of GIS solutions using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise
Architect and deliver applications including Experience Builder apps, dashboards, web maps, Instant Apps, StoryMaps, and Survey123 workflows
Lead spatial data modeling, digitizing standards, data cleanup, QA and QC, and schema design
Design and deliver ETL workflows, data pipelines, and integrations between GIS, databases, and enterprise systems
Design and support automation using Power Automate, Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST services, APIs, and webhooks
Lead API-based and system-to-system integrations supporting operational and decision-support workflows
Apply AI-enabled workflows and decision-support systems to real-world client challenges
Lead discovery sessions, technical workshops, and solution design discussions
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned clients
Review and QA work produced by associate and mid-level team members
Troubleshoot complex issues across GIS, data, automation, and integrated systems
Ensure solutions meet performance, security, reliability, and maintainability expectations
Prepare and review technical documentation and client deliverables
Support project planning, estimation, and delivery coordination
Mentor and support the professional growth of junior team members
Stay current with emerging spatial, automation, AI, and enterprise technologies
✅ Required Experience
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of professional experience delivering GIS and spatial technology solutions in a consulting or enterprise environment
Strong hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise
Experience designing and delivering Experience Builder apps, dashboards, web maps, and Survey123 workflows
Experience with spatial data modeling, schema design, and QA and QC practices
Experience building or supporting automation, integrations, or data pipelines
Explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences, verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery and client engagements
Ability to travel 20 to 30 percent for workshops, deployments, and client engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Power Automate, Python, JavaScript, SQL, ETL tools, REST services, APIs, or system integrations
Experience supporting enterprise GIS environments and multi-system architectures
Familiarity with IT and cybersecurity considerations such as access control, data protection, and system reliability
Experience mentoring junior staff or leading technical workstreams
Experience working with government, utilities, or infrastructure-focused organizations
