✅ Position Overview
The Associate Technical Consultant – Spatial Intelligence & Solution Delivery is an entry-level role that supports Simply Spatial’s delivery team by assisting with GIS configuration, data preparation, and workflow execution. This position provides hands-on exposure to modern spatial technologies, automation, and GeoAI while contributing to real-world projects that improve communities.
This role is designed as a launchpad for growth into technical consulting and leadership positions.
This role blends:
Supporting GIS configuration and data workflows
Performing spatial analysis and QA/QC tasks
Learning automation and GeoAI concepts
Assisting with project documentation and client deliverables
Collaborating with senior team members and leadership
✅ Key Responsibilities
Assist with configuring maps, apps, dashboards, surveys, and layers using Esri technologies
Support spatial data creation, cleanup, QA/QC, and schema development
Conduct geoprocessing and spatial analysis to support project goals
Help implement field workflows, mobile data collection apps, and enterprise GIS tools
Learn and apply modern automation and GeoAI workflows
Prepare documentation, reports, maps, visuals, and presentations
Participate in requirements gathering, workshops, and client meetings
Contribute to project communication, note-taking, and follow-ups
✅ Required Experience
Required Qualifications:
0–3 years of professional or academic GIS experience
Familiarity with Esri tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, field apps)
Understanding of spatial data models, cartography, and geoprocessing fundamentals
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks
Demonstrated interest in GIS, data, technology, or spatial solutions
Ability to travel 20–30% for workshops, discovery, deployments, and client engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Python, SQL, Arcade, ETL, or ModelBuilder
Exposure to AI/GeoAI or automation workflows
Experience with dashboards, StoryMaps, surveys, or mobile GIS apps
Internship or project experience with government, utilities, engineering, or spatial data
Familiarity with Azure or AWS cloud concepts
Exposure to ArcGIS Enterprise, Hub, Indoors, Urban, Velocity, or Utility Network
Demonstrated ability to support client meetings, workshops, or technical delivery
